1996- Present N. C. Governor’s appointee to the Atlantic States
Marine Fisheries Commission. The Atlantic States
Marine Fisheries Commission regulates fisheries along
the Atlantic Coast from zero to three miles offshore.

1998- Present Chairman of the Governors’ Appointees of the
Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. There is
one Governor’s Appointee from each East Coast State.

agencies in protecting water quality in the ocean and
area sounds and establishing a water quality monitoring
program during two terms as chairman of the Dare County
Clean Water Committee
