Clean Water Management Trust Board Holds Special Meeting

RALEIGH – The Board of Trustees of the Clean Water Management Trust Fund will hold a special meeting on Thursday, December 21 from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm in Raleigh.

The meeting will have a limited agenda to discuss the transition of the Fund's executive director. The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel located downtown at 421 S. Salisbury Street.

The meeting follows the November 13 announcement by Executive Director Bill Holman of his resignation effective December 27, 2006.

The CWMTF was established in 1996 to help finance projects that enhance or restore degraded waters, protect unpolluted waters, and/or contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and greenways for environmental, educational, and recreational benefits. CWMTF estimates that more than $17 billion is needed to protect and restore water quality in North Carolina.

The 21-member, independent, CWMTF Board of Trustees has full responsibility over the allocation of money from the fund.
