RALEIGH -The Board of Trustees of the Clean Water Management Trust Fund will review priorities for awarding grants submitted last December when it meets in Raleigh Monday, July, 2006. The CWMTF Board of Trustees meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission building located at North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus -1751 Varsity Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina. Attorney General Cooper is scheduled to speak at approximately 1:30 p.m.. In addition, the board will consider an administrative budget for FY 2006-2007 and address other projects and issues. A list of all projects remaining eligible is on-line here. CWMTF trustees will also hear a presentation on the U.S. Farm and Ranchland Protection Program from Dick Fowler, Assistant State Conservationist for Programs, U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service. The complete agenda for the July meeting can be found online here. On Sunday, July 9, the board's Restoration/Stormwater, Infrastructure/Wastewater, Acquisition, Staff Efficiency Evaluation and Planning and Budget committees will meet beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Wildlife Resources Commission building. The CWMTF was established in 1996 to help finance projects that enhance or restore degraded waters, protect unpolluted waters, and/or contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and greenways for environmental, educational, and recreational benefits. CWMTF estimates that more than $15 billion is needed to protect and restore water quality in North Carolina. The 21-member, independent, CWMTF Board of Trustees has full responsibility over the allocation of money from the fund. ###
