The board will set priorities for funding grants submitted on June 1, 2004 as well as address other projects and issues. Eight-four grant requests totaling $76.7 million remain eligible for funding. A list of all projects remaining eligible is on-line here. In addition, CWMTF trustees will hear presentations from Charles Brummit, Executive Director, Piedmont Land Conservancy and Scott Bryant, PE, Manager, City of Greensboro Stormwater Management Division. Bryant will update the trustees on Greensboro's South Buffalo Creek Water Quality Improvement Project, which was funded in part by $1,370,000 in CWMTF grants. At 2:00 p.m., board members will join City of Greensboro staff and other area officials for a site tour of project. A complete agenda for the November meeting can be found online here. On Sunday, November 14, the board's budget, restoration and stormwater, infrastructure and wastewater, stewardship and acquisition committees will meet, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Marriot. The CWMTF was established in 1996 to help finance projects that enhance or restore degraded waters, protect unpolluted waters, and/or contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and greenways for environmental, educational, and recreational benefits. CWMTF estimates that more than $10.5 billion is needed to protect and restore water quality in North Carolina. The 21-member, independent, CWMTF Board of Trustees has full responsibility over the allocation of money from the fund. ###
