The requests under review were submitted to CWMTF on June 1, 2006. Projects acted favorably upon by the trustees at the October meeting will remain eligible for further review later this year.  Final decisions on funding for projects are dependent on the availability of funds as determined by the N.C. General Assembly.

EDITORS' NOTE: Immediately following the Monday session, Adam Waters, City of Washington Water Resources Superintendent, will be available to provide a guided tour of the CWMTF-funded Washington stormwater wetlands project . Media is invited to attend.

The CWMTF was established in 1996 to help finance projects that enhance or restore degraded waters, protect unpolluted waters, and/or contribute toward a network of riparian buffers and greenways for environmental, educational, and recreational benefits. CWMTF estimates that more than $17 billion is needed to protect and restore water quality in North Carolina.

The 21-member, independent, CWMTF Board of Trustees has full responsibility over the allocation of money from the fund.
